| | | I am a Master's of Electrical Engineering with Business student, finishing in 2022. |
| | | I have completed my Bachelor of Science and Diploma of computing in 2020, also from the University of Melbourne. |
| | | In these, I have been exposed to a wide range of problems and have been tasked with finding creative solutions within constrains, which I believe should help with a placement at Optiver. |

| | | I have experience programming in C and Java, solving problems at systems and user levels. |
| | | I also have some experience with programming hardware in Verilog and VHDL. |
| | | For work, I have done some development with embedded systems, and am generally interested in the tight performance constraints there presented. |
| | | In my own time, I have played with various open server and enterprise level technologies in my own time, particularly virtualisation and containerisation. |
| | | I also have experience in programming FPGAs with Verilog and VHDL. |
| | | I am also very used to working within teams on technical challenges, both at university and in the outside workspace. |
| | | Often these challenges have required me to coordinate with my teammates to research new information and work towards a solution to the task at hand. |
| | | I have found that the technical background and communication training has enabled me to approach problems from an unconventional position, often providing novel solutions. |
| | | Additionally, I have an interest in capital markets, beginning from family discussions and continuing to high school and university education. |

| | | I believe that a position with Optiver would offer some fantastic opportunities I would be unable to experience anywhere else. |
| | | The constraints faced from algorithmic trading fascinate me, particularly due to the emphasis placed on, and potential gain from, marginal improvements in performance. |
| | | Additionally, I think the business of proprietary trading is an interesting one, being that as it is the firm's own money being traded rather than a group of investors, the firm exposes itself to more risk creating a larger emphasis on quality trades. |
| | | The sale of derivatives to institutions seems like an interesting additional method of raising revenue, requiring a sizeable technological back end to mitigate risk. |
| | | I believe that a position with IMC would offer me some fantastic opportunities I would be unable to experience anywhere else. |
| | | I find IMC's interest and work into algorithmic and computational trading to be fascinating. |
| | | The use of technology to process and make sense of vast amounts of trading data in fractions of a second to analyse investments provides insights that have previously been unavailable and IMC's successful use of this technology is inspiring. |
| | | The level of activity provided by technology allows a significant increase in trading frequency, which when paired with good information leads to excellent returns. |
| | | I want to be a part of the evolving front of technological trading and want to do this with you. |
